INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

We are currently working on a library of installation instructions, please to not hesitate to contact us with questions.

Safety

The safety of you and others is very important to us. In order to minimize this risk and make an informed decision about safety, it is important that you carefully read and follow the installation instructions we have provided. We urge you to use good judgement and allow adequate time for install.

  • Always wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as: protective eye wear, gloves, protective footwear, etc.

  • We recommend that you use a certified mechanic or shop for professional installation.

  • Park the vehicle on level ground.

  • Always set emergency brakes on vehicle and use tire blocks to ensure vehicle stabilization.

  • Use caution when lifting, we recommend the use of equipment to help lift bumpers into place.

  • Take caution when installing wiring.

  • Perform regular inspections of hardware, bolts, brackets, etc.

  • Bumpers are designed to fit Speed Demon Lights, we do not guarantee off brand fitment.

  • Our winch mount is designed for Warn, RFX, Bulldog and Smittybilt 12k winch products. We do not guarantee off brand fitment.

Use & Risk

Gridiron Bumper Corp is not responsible for damage to our products, or other subsequent damage that might occur, as a result of misuse or improper installation. While we do manufacture products that appear stronger than factory parts, our products should not be viewed or relied upon as life-saving devices in the event of a collision or rollover. We make no claims relating to airbag compatibility, crash-worthiness, or sturdiness. It is the customer's responsibility to check with the vehicle manufacturer or automotive dealer regarding airbag compatibility and automobile manufacturer's warranty before installing our products.

Preparation

  • Ensure personal safety by checking hazards and identifying risks.

  • Check for correct hardware.

  • Check for tools needed.

  • Use either foam or tape on fenders to prevent scratches to the truck when installing your bumper.

  • Allow for proper installation times as noted below.

Installation Times

  1. Front Bumper: 2-3 hours without lights

  2. Front Bumper: 4 hours with lights

  3. Rear Bumper: 2 hours without lights

  4. Rear Bumper: 3 hours with lights and sensors

  5. Front + Rear Bumper installed at same time: 6 hours with lights and sensors

  6. Winch Bumper: 3-4 hours without lights

  7. Winch Bumper: 5 hours with lights

  8. Headache Rack: 1.5 hours with reverse lights wired to switch

Tools

You will need the following tools for install.

  • Ratchet

  • 3/4" Socket & Wrench

  • 15mm Socket

  • 18mm Socket

  • 9/16" Socket

Installation Instructions

  1. Install the lights in the bumper before installing the bumper on the vehicle.

  2. Install frame mounts on the vehicle and tighten.

  3. Install bumper on vehicle.

  4. Install d-rings and hardware.

  5. Adjust position and tighten eight (8) d-ring bolts once you have it where the bumper sits straight in relation to the grille/headlights and centered left to right.

  6. Confirm all hardware is tightened and everything is secure.

  7. Test all lighting and wiring before using vehicle (fog lights, sensors, etc.).

  8. Stand back and enjoy your new Gridiron Bumper.

We are happy to talk you or the installer through the installation of your Gridiron Bumper.

Maintenance

  • Frequently check that all hardware is tightened and that all wiring and connections are secure.
